Your dog is something that should be a constant and continual process in your dog’s life. By starting your dog off young, you are setting good foundation to build on top of your dog, much like a young child will go through development changes and you will need to stay consistent with training, continue to advance as your dog matures. A good rule of thumb is after all vaccines have been administered, generally at four months. Rest assured, we can help you through this process.
Yes we use treats, however, we are balanced trainers which means that we do not adhere to one specific method. We work with your dog to find out what motivates them. One size does not fit all, dogs are unique in their likes and dislikes, just like humans. Some dogs are not very food motivated, and prefer play, toys, praise etc.
Definitely, this is like when your child goes to college. We are like the cool teachers but you will always be your dogs number one. They recognize voice and scent. We understand that it is difficult to send your dog away for two to three weeks, so you will get pictures and videos through out the training program.
Depends on many factors. For example breed, age, past history of the dog and type of training desired. Every dog is different. Every behavior issue is different. Every owner is different. There are no quick fixes when it comes to training your dog. We work with you to set appropriate expectations based on your dog and your unique situation. The amount of commitment, consistency and work that you put in is also a determining factor. If you put 50% in, you will get 50% out. Training your dog is something that should be a constant and continual process throughout your dog’s life. Generally speaking it could take between 2-4 weeks, there is no set time.
Yes we do. We specialize in working with the most challenging of dogs. If you are struggling with your dog’s behavior, please don’t give up, we can help you.
We use positive reinforcement which is the offering of desirable effects or consequences for a behavior with the intention of increasing the chance of that behavior being repeated in the future. Dogs learn good behavior by being rewarded for doing well. Providing your dog with a treat following a behavior is an example of using this method.
We are open at 7:30 AM and close at 8 PM.
To keep your dog feeling comfortable and close to you even in your absence, include something with your scent. This can be a blanket, t-shirt or a throw. Also, their favorite toy is a plus. This is a wonderful way to help your dog feel comfortable, calm and stress-free.
At W&M Happy Dogs we have different activities. Your furry will go outside to play often, listen to music, watch tv, eat, rest or train.
It is not recommended. Pets are like children. They need focus and structure. This is like school. We do not want them to think they are going home with their owners and then instead of advancing they go backwards.

Training is an ongoing process so we are enforcing the training. Highly recommend this training school which not only trains but also boards. His passion for animals and the success of the training was evident from day 1, which was so important to us. We struggled with making the decision to have them trained away from home for so long. We wanted our babies trained, but also know they were being loved and cared for, and that was certainly evident in our interactions with Wilberg and Michelle, but more so by the way our babies loved being around them. The way our babies engaged with them on videos shared and future visits spoke volumes to us. I can’t recommend them enough if you’re on the fence like we were in sending our babies off for training. They now have a solid discipline basis that we continue to build on at home. We have 4 dogs and these are the first two we’ve trained this way, and wow, what a difference! I wouldn’t think about it twice if I had to do it again. Well worth the investment!

Merlin used to be a leash-pulling, excitable mess during walks and had trouble with commands. Thanks to our trainer's expertise, those days are behind us.
